Woodbridge School
Description
Woodbridge School is leading HMC Independent co-educational Day and Boarding school for ages 4-18. It was re-founded in 1662 and is part of the Seckford Foundation, and has occupied its site in the centre of the charming county town of Woodbridge in Suffolk since the 19th century.
The school attracts pupils from across East Anglia and the Senior School has a small boarding house which attracts a wide range of nationalities including British pupils. Throughout the last 350 years, Woodbridge has retained its reputation for excellence in education and we are proud of the standards, the values and the aspirations suggested by its history. We are also a school that is forward-looking and progressive, combining the very best of old and new. We are acutely aware that all our pupils will need the skills and attributes to thrive in the ever competitive world. This means academic achievement, and it is a given that pupils will receive this at Woodbridge, but academic results alone are not good enough.
We expect our pupils to work hard, to work independently and to achieve excellent results, however preparing young people for life means much more than good grades. It means young people developing strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, the ability to lead and work with others, and above all self-confidence. The emphasis of the school is very much on what pupils can do well and ensuring that they emerge as happy, confident and well balanced young men and women.
The school’s innovative teaching, exceptional pastoral care, extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities and warm and welcoming community make Woodbridge the ideal school environment for pupils to find what they are good at, feel nurtured and supported, and succeed as they move through school and out into the world.
